Before You Begin Your Search For Your New Home:

Do not start to throw large amounts of money at outstanding debt, because believe it or not this behavior is considered a negative by mortgage calculators. However, any wrongfully reported information should be dealt with before its too late.
	•	So much of the housing crisis was due to the professionals in this business ignoring the signs that a potential homebuyer will not be able to afford the home they are purchasing. With predatory lending and a serious lack of understanding of the products being sold to them, many home owners got into trouble. To avoid this situation, you should determine what you can comfortably afford on a monthly basis for your new home. Do not forget to include the down payment as well as the monthly payment. 
	•	Find a Mortgage Company that meets your needs and get pre-qualified (preferably pre-approved).
	•	Choose a REALTOR® that you trust and who understands your needs.
	•	Determine what neighborhood best matches your needs.
